In addition to its 2007 agreement to carry the ION Television Network, Verizon FiOS recently added The Worship Network (www.worship.net), qubo and ION Life to its Boston, New York, and northern New Jersey markets. The launch follows the recent addition of the ION channel suite to the FiOS TV lineup in Philadelphia, Southern California, Dallas, Tampa and Washington, D.C. FiOS also plans a future launch in Portland.
FiOS, an innovator in delivering “triple-play” service (phone, internet and television), provides television over an advanced fiber-optic network straight to customer’s homes. The company is wiring communities in several states and has plans for rapid growth.
“This new agreement brings The Worship Network’s inspirational programs to a new audience, and we welcome the opportunity to build our family of viewers,” said Bruce Koblish, Worship president. “We are especially excited to share our latest project; a live worship concert entitled ‘Hymns of Hope,’ with FiOS subscribers.”
The Worship Network recently began expanding its offerings through live worship events while continuing to produce its core “Worship” program for a constantly growing audience. This programming, combining beautiful nature imagery from around the world with music and scripture, has made a powerful impact on millions of people since launching over 15 years ago.
“This has been the heart and soul of our ministry and we will continue to expand these hosted Worship shows while we broaden our programming to offer more styles of music and live worship events,” says Koblish.
All of this unique faith-based programming will now be available to FiOS television customers.
“The launch of our diginets clearly demonstrates Verizon’s commitment to its FiOS TV subscribers,” said Steve Friedman, President Network Distribution of ION Media Networks. “It also reinforces the value of special-interest programming on television.”
The Worship Network’s website, www.worship.net, provides complete station listings and viewing information as well as live streaming of the network’s broadcast and specials. |
