Bio
The band which was to become DECYFER, was born in December 2002, when the band then called Allysonhymn (all-eyes-on-him), consisting of guitarist Brandon Mills, drummer Josh Oliver, and bass player Caleb Oliver, joined forces with a guitarist by the name of Chris Clonts. Influenced by many different musical backgrounds, but united with the purpose of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, these musicians set out to make an impact on the Christian market, and to bring the definition of Christian rock a whole new meaning. Over the next six months, these four unique musical talents would begin to create a melodic, hard, guitar driving rock sound that is now known as DECYFER. During the month of June 2003, because of the addition of a new member, and a new sound, and with much prayerful thought and consideration, Allysonhymn gave way to the name DECYFER. In it's original spelling, decipher means to interpret something of value or importance. Given a unique spelling, and applied to God's word, DECYFER was chosen as the name. DECYFER made that definition it's ministry, to interpret God's word and his undying love to all through a unique style of music, fueled by incredible passion and life changing purpose. Driven by God's calling on their lives to use their talents in full time music ministry, DECYFER has taken some big steps through faith, moving forward in the music industry, where God willing, they will be able to minister to the masses on the national and international levels through their spirit filled passion, eye opening clarity, and amazing God-driven purpose.
