StorySide:B
’s sophomore album from Gotee Records has definite potential for an album of the year recognition.  We Are Not Alone starts off with a rock song by the usual pop band, which contains the lyrics for the title of the album.  "Fall Down" encourages listeners that even if you fall and hit the ground, you will not face it alone.

The song leads right into the melodic conversation, "Tell Me What You Think of God."  It asks the hard-hitting question, "Tell me is it hard to be all that He sees in you?"  The repeated line "Because He believes in you" is sure to help those down on themselves to see that they really are God’s favorite child.

The album slows up a bit for the first single, piano-driven "Be Still."  Though it plays off the famous psalm, the band puts a creative twist on it and parallels the line from the first track, bringing in a chorus to sing and repeat "we are not alone."  Another great song for those on the verge caving in, wearing thin, or giving up, "Be Still" encourages listeners to call on God and listen for His whisper, "Be still and know I'm here."

A personal favorite is "Sister."  Written for single women, the song advises this group to separate themselves from the crowd, because the one they are looking for is waiting just for them.  A separate piece of encouragement comes from the line, "you can be all the things you thought you'd never be."

Other songs on the album include "Angels," an anthem on the many decisions we must make daily and the struggle within ourselves to decide what to do, the hardest rock song on the album and fan favorite at concerts, "Don't Let It Go," and "That Is Love," a song that reminds us all that love is always on our side when we have no where else to go.

The album ends off with perfect fashion, bouncing the attention back to the One who matters.  "I Give You Me" explains the simple, yet hard to live out statement, “You gave me everything, so I give you me.”

The last song, "For You," is another great vertical and self-explanatory song.  The repeated chorus, "All that I do, I do it for You, for You," is one that will get you singing along and then hitting play once more.  It definitely rounds out the album nicely.

StorySide:B has set the bar even higher with We Are Not Alone.  This great themed album is sure to leave listeners more encouraged than they have ever felt before.
