The sophomore release of Jadon Lavik is set to be in stores March 7th and fans of his debut album will adore this one. Life on the Inside opens with Lavik's first single from the album, "Changing Happy." The song encourages us all to change our own definition of happy, explaining that "we've all tried to cover sadness and sorrow with temporary things that never seem to last." One of the stronger songs on the album, it's the perfect opening in that it leaves you wanting more of what Lavik has to offer.

Lavik joined forces with Adam Watts and Andy Dodd to write "Nothing Compares." This typical worship song, one of the more upbeat tracks on the CD, describes exactly what the title suggests - that "nothing compares" to our relationship with Christ, and the things we buy and do can't take His place.

"What If," Lavik's hit song from Moving On Faith, makes another appearance and is included on this album. I have to admit, I've been in love with this song since the first time I heard it on the radio, so I gladly accepted the fact that it joined the ranks on this second album. It gives the perfect scenarios and poses the exact questions we all ask God at one point or another; if, by our actions, He could ever love us more or love us less. "What If" is a comforting reminder that nothing we do will make God love us more or less. Jadon suggests in the song that God says to us all that we belong to Him "apart from the things we do."

One of the best songs on the album encourages Christians to be the aliens we were called to be in the world. "On the Outside" ponders what everyone else is missing out on and why they ask questions about our "odd" behavior as servers of Christ. Reminiscent of MercyMe's "Homesick," Lavik's version states "Home's a place where I have yet to be."

The album concludes perfectly. With "It's Yours," Lavik seems to be offering up the album to God. Certain paradoxes of our world are also brought to light in the song - "Save to lose in this economy upside down. Lose to find the only life worth living for. Give to gain; I want to lead a life that's full of love." It's here that Lavik offers up all aspects of his life to God, praying for Him to mold and shape him into who he is meant to be.

The album as a whole provides a sense of peace and comfort. Every song touches on the issue of Christ being with us no matter what we do. Add in a little worship, and you've got Jadon Lavik's sophomore release on BEC Records. For those who are new to Lavik's music, if you are fans of Paul Wright or Phil Joel, you're sure to enjoy Life on the Inside.
